“Sab Keh Do” day to promote the importance of communication will be celebrated for the third consecutive year on April 17, 2011.

This year’s theme is to motivate those who have worked hard against all odds and difficulties, by expressing encouraging thoughts for them.

“Sub Keh Do” day is dedicated to create awareness about the significance of self-expression. In the spirit of recent world cup, this year’s “Sub Keh Do” day will focus on sending positive messages to Pakistan’s cricket team. “Sab Keh Do” day endorses the idea of building a stronger society by strengthening relationships.

Therefore, people will be encouraged to give inspirational messages for the members of Pakistan’s cricket team, who brought the whole nation together and evoked patriotic feelings in them.

Like previous years, an exclusive song for “Sub Keh Do” day will be aired on various channels.

Music maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has recorded the song in his voice this year. Previously Shafqat Amanat Ali and Ali Hamza had lent their voices for “Sub Keh Do” day’s songs. These unique and catchy numbers became instant hits. In a survey conducted last year, many people described these songs as soothing and inspiring.

Ather Ul Islam, student of MBA at a local university, stated that he was quite impressed with the lyrics of all “Sub Keh Do” songs and is convinced that the latest one will also come up to everybody’s expectations. He added that “Sub Keh Do” day is a unique concept and is contributing to the overall wellbeing of our society by fortifying relationships.

The core objective of celebrating “Sub Keh Do” day is to uphold the importance of expressing oneself. Communication – verbal, written or gestured is an integral instinct of all living things. A lot of personal, professional and social disasters can be averted by maintaining clear, appropriate and unambiguous communication. “Sub Keh Do” day persuades everyone to speak their heart out in a respectful manner, which eventually contributes towards promoting peace, love and understanding in society.

Uth Music TV Show Going On-air Tomorrow!


Ufone’s televised youth music platform, Uth Records, is all set to go on air nationwide starting 18th February 2011, debuting with their first Uth music selection, Karachi based rock band Jumbo Jutt.

Indeed as introduced in late January 2011 Uth Records is based on the acknowledgment that our country has an abundance of musical talent, but due to a dearth of avenues, such talent usually receives little recognition or opportunity to break into the industry, thereby stifling the potential a new generation of music can bring.

Through this televised platform and as illustrated by the first chosen artists Jumbo Jutt, Uth Records endeavors to show how talented young musicians can thrive in a professional music environment where one of their original compositions is refined through Uth Records’ in a specialized recording studio with some of Pakistan’s most gifted musicians guiding younger talent.

Warid GLOW Brings ‘Bombay Dreams’ To Karachi


Over the years, English theater in Pakistan has experienced tremendous growth. Warid has become a leader in promoting arts in the community. Greatly supporting the young talents, Warid GLOW has become synonymous to quality theater in Pakistan.

The much hyped and awaited play ‘Bombay Dreams” is now staged at the Karachi Art Council for 25 days Bombay Dreams Warid GLOW Brings ‘Bombay Dreams’ To Karachi consecutively, starting from 27th, January to February, 20th, 2011. Originally, the play was an Andrew Lloyd Webber production, created by famous Indian music director A R Rahman. Directed by Shah Sharabeel, it is an adaptation of the original one in accordance with the local scenario. The play beautifully hints at the identity issues confronting human beings.

GLOW and Center Stage Productions staged an array of successful plays over the years in the cities of Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi including; The Phantom of the Opera’, Tom, Dick and Harry, Home Is Where Your Cloths Are, You Only Marry Twice, Moulin Rouge and Bombay Dreams. These are the largest plays of this magnitude in the region and believed to be the most expensive stage shows in Pakistan.

The long association between Warid and CSP has not only set a precedent of quality stage for dramatic presentations in Pakistan but has also groomed the audience which comes to appreciate quality theater. Center Stage Productions is the most recognisable figure in Pakistan theater that is rewriting the rules of commercial theater for our entertainment starved society for over 10 years.  Back in 2010, Sharabeel brought ‘Moulin’ Rouge’ to Karachi with this promise that he will return to Karachi again in 2011 to stage Bombay Dreams.

Warid GLOW Organizes Atif Aslam Concert for LUMS


With a sonorous yet soulful style of singing, Atif (Warid’s Brand Ambassador) rocked LUMS(Lahore University of Management Sciences) with his thrilling performance.

Over 1500 LUMS students/alumni attended the concert and danced the night away.

Attendees appreciated efforts of Warid Telecom for organizing series of Atif concerts for the entertainment hungry Pakistani youth at a time when nothing is happening around due to security concerns.

Ufone Background Music


Ufone Background music lets you play music and sound effects in the background of your call. You can play your favorite song in the background, or the sound of the beach, a market place and many more.

So stop making those boring calls and personalize your conversations by playing music that matches the mood in the background. Just activate this service on your Ufone, select the song you want and hear the music play during the call. And that’s not all. You can also select different music for different people and play special sounds during the conversation at the press of a button.

Once the service is activated on your Ufone you can dial 770 and either select different songs for different mobile numbers or you can select one single song for all mobile numbers.

How To Use Ufone Background Music Service:

By dialing 770, you can manage your Background Music account by adding, deleting or changing the songs.

An easy way to add music to a conversation is by adding the prefix 77 before dialing the required number.

Here is a short guide to Ufone Background Music (BGM) Service:

Ufone BGM service can be subscribed as follows:

• SMS SUB to 770
• Dial 770

You are subscribed and a default BGM tune is set against your number.
You can download content through following medium:

• Log on to BGM Subscriber WEB Portal- click here

After selecting a content, you will be given the option to assign the selected content on your phone keys (1 – 9).
After first subscription, first three content (including default tune) will be downloaded for free.

Ufone Background Music Call Mechanics:

You have complete control over the music while it is playing. You can easily control the volume of the music and can end the music as and when you want! This is not all- you can also add sounds effects like a crying baby, car horn, marketplace, etc. Just read on below to know all about Ufone Background Music Service.

In order to initiate a BGM call, simply dial 77 followed by any number e.g 770333xxxxx , 77051xxxxx, 770300xxxxx
If you are not subscribed to BGM and want to initiate a BGM call by dialing 77 before the required number, call will not be initiated and you will be prompted to press 1 to subscribe the service.
A default BGM tune is set against the MSISDN.
After downloading content, other tunes and sound effects can then be assigned on keys 1 to 9.
Volume of BGM will be increased by pressing the ‘#’ key.
Volume of BGM will be decreased by pressing the ‘*’ key.
Pressing ‘0’ key will mute the Background Music during the call.
Pressing ‘0’ key will again activate the Background Music during the call.
If you are a BGM user and want to copy the BGM of other BGM user during the call, ‘*’ key will be pressed.
If B party is not a BGM subscriber and wants to copy A party’s (BGM subscriber) BGM tune, B party can press the ‘*’ key to copy the BGM tune. B party will also be subscribed and the copied tune will be set as his/ her BGM tune.
